Appearance wise, this cake looks more like a slab of meat. Dough is definitely present here, but on the surface you can barely notice it due to what I'm assuming is the frosting covering it. The assumed frosting in question looks like it wasn't distributed correctly on the surface of the cake, which would explain why some areas had different colors of saturation than others. The dark particles on the surface of the cake makes it look seasoned, which is something nobody (at least nobody I know) does with a cake. The liquid substance from the plate makes me assume that the cake was covered in something more watery than actual frosting, which would also explain why the frosting was barely able to cover the top of the cake.
Alas, it's not about the appearance of food that makes it good, it's the taste. As long the cake tasted good to you or whoever else may eat it, then it's a good cake regardless on how it looks. Hope you enjoyed it.
